Edgewood Eye Center is proud to offer the Lumenis Optilight. Lumenis, the inventor of IPL or (Intense Pulsed Light), is the first and only IPL that's FDA-approved for the management of dry eye disease due to MGD (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction).
OptiLight elevates dry eye management with Lumenis’ patented Optimal Pulse Technology (OPT™) and user-centered design. Optilight treats the root cause of dry eye which is chronic inflammation. It's a quick 15-20 minute drop free, drug free, light-based treatment, that targets the root causes of dry eye and blepharitis. It also treats inflammatory conditions around the eyes such as ocular rosacea and telangiectasia, which lead to ocular surface conditions such as dry eye.
Forma-i radiofrequency
Forma-I delivers bipolar radiofrequency technology to delicate subdermal layers of the skin to treat dry eye and provide long-lasting relief.
Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT)
Developed by NASA, LLLT has proven effective at treating dry eye disease in. LLLT uses specially designed LED lights to gently warm up the eyelids, resulting in the meibomian glands to unclog and release oils on a cellular level.
